WASHINGTON, Aug. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Private Sector Joins Justice Department, Protects Consumers Against Vehicle Fraud, Hazardous Vehicles - The Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) recently announced partnerships designed to fight consumer fraud and reduce the number of unsafe or stolen vehicles retitled or sold. Data provider companies, Auto Data Direct, Inc., Carco Group, Inc., CARFAX, CVR, Experian Automotive, Mobiletrac, LLC., Motor Vehicle Software Corporation, RigDig, VINAudit.com, LLC., and VINSmart, joined BJA's effort to protect consumers by providing consumer access to the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System.
OJJDP's Leader Announces $1.5 Million Award for Community Based Violence Prevention –Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) Acting Administrator Melodee Hanes announced a $1.5 million Community Based Violence Prevention award to the City of Detroit at a press conference this week. "We are proud to support Detroit's efforts to stop the violence that threatens community safety and all too often robs young men and women of their future," said Hanes. Detroit is one of six cities participating in the National Forum on Youth Violence Prevention.
