AAG Robinson Speaks at Center for Court Innovation Conference – In her remarks at the International Conference of Community Courts in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, January 31, Laurie Robinson, Office of Justice Program's Assistant Attorney General, spoke about engaging the community, reducing crime and ensuring fairness, which are "cardinal tenets of an effective system of justice." She also spoke about the importance of community courts. "We need to look beyond individual offenders to examine the broader effect of these programs on communities. We need to know if these courts truly improve relationships between local residents and the justice system …and if and how they affect social norms. And we need to know if they create incentives to obey the law."
AAG Robinson describes lessons learned in interview with DC Public Radio—In an interview with Leonard Sipes of the Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency (CSOSA) on Wednesday, February 1, AAG Laurie Robinson described lessons learned and reflected on her experiences during her almost ten years as Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Justice Programs. She highlighted CrimeSolutions.gov, a resource to communicate "what works" to practitioners.
