AAG Robinson to Leave OJP in February – Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Laurie Robinson, announced Tuesday that she will leave her position at the end of February. AAG Robinson was confirmed by the Senate in November, 2009 and previously served for nearly seven years as assistant attorney general for OJP during the 1990s, making her the longest-serving head in the agency's 44-year history. Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Mary Lou Leary will serve as acting assistant attorney general following Robinson's departure.

January is National Mentoring Month – As part of National Mentoring Month, the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, along with Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Corporation for National and Community Service, Harvard School of Public Health and United Way Worldwide, will sponsor the second annual National Mentoring Summit on January 24-25 in Washington, D.C. The summit will honor people in local communities, who make mentoring successful.
