BJS Releases New Data on Crimes Against People with Disabilities –The Bureau of Justice Statistics released Crime Against People with Disabilities, 2008-2010 – Statistical Tables, presenting estimates of nonfatal violent victimization (rape, sexual assault, robbery, aggravated and simple assault) against persons age 12 or older with disabilities, from 2008 to 2010. http://www.bjs.gov.
OJP Announces More Fiscal Year 2011 Grant Awards – The Office of Justice Program's Bureau of Justice Assistance and the National Institute of Justice announced awards exploring the use of data-driven policing approaches. The grants will be awarded for combining data and technology to improve public tactics, such as determining where the next problem might occur, devising strategies and tactics to prevent crime or mitigating consequences of crime.
