ODEC Names Beam Senior Vice President
GLEN ALLEN, Va., Nov. 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Old Dominion Electric Cooperative (ODEC) has named D. Richard Beam senior vice president for power supply effective November 18, 2013.
Beam has been with ODEC since 1987, most recently serving as vice president for power supply. During his 26 year tenure with ODEC, he has worked in the areas of power supply planning and contracting, project management, power cost budgeting, rates and regulatory affairs, and power markets. As vice president for power supply, Beam focused on meeting the power supply needs, both short and long term, for ODEC and its members, transmission planning for ODEC's ownership in transmission facilities, and NERC compliance.
"Rick's well-rounded utility expertise, leadership abilities, and progressive vision have been invaluable to ODEC and will continue to serve us well as he moves into the senior vice president position," said Jack Reasor, president and CEO of ODEC.
As senior vice president Beam will oversee the entire power-supply operation with additional responsibility for engineering, planning, environmental, member services, and the information technology functions.
Pete Gallini has been appointed interim vice president for power supply. He currently serves as senior director of power supply.
