Passenger Car and Light Commercial Vehicle Market
Showed a Decrease of 4% in January-September period of 2016.
Passenger Car Market Decreased 2%, Light Commercial Vehicle Market Decreased 9%.
Turkish passenger car and light commercial vehicle total market decreased 4.0% in the first nine months of 2016 compared to the same period of the previous year, to 636,499. In the nine-month period of 2015, a total market sales figure of 662,988 was reached.
Passenger car sales went down 2.3% in the first nine months of 2016, compared to the same period of the last year, to 489,365. In the same period of 2015, the sales reached 500,905.
In the first nine months of 2016, light commercial vehicle market decreased 9.22%, in comparison to the year before, to 147,134. In the same period of the last year, the sales reached 162,083.
Passenger Car and Light Commercial Vehicle Market
Showed an Increase of 5.6% in September, 2016.
While Passenger Car Market Increased 9%, Light Commercial Vehicle Market Decreased 4%.
In September 2016, passenger car and light commercial vehicle market reached 67,593. In comparison to the total number of 64,025 in September 2015 passenger car and light commercial vehicle market, the sales went up in a ratio of 5.57%.
In September 2016, passenger car sales went up 9.03% in comparison to the same month of the year before and became 51,340. Last year, the sales reached 47,088.
Light commercial vehicle market decreased 4.04% in September, 2016 compared to September, 2015, to 16,253. Last year, the sales reached 16,937.
By the end of September 2016, a decrease of 1.89% in the sales of passenger cars below 1600cc and a decrease of 6.71% in the sales of passenger cars with a 1600-2000cc motor volume was observed. As for the sales of the passenger cars over 2000cc, a decrease of 30.66% was observed. 38 electric vehicles were sold in the first nine months of 2016.
When the average emission values of the passenger car market in the end of September 2016 are considered, the passenger cars between 100-120g/km took the largest piece of the pie with a ratio of 46.12% and with a number of 225,691.
In the end of September 2016, diesel passenger car sales grabbed a share of 62.02%, while the automatic transmission passenger cars had a share of 57.18%.
In the end of September 2016, 81.44% of the passenger car market segment again consisted of the vehicles in the A, B and C segments whose tax ratios are low. When evaluated according to segments, Segment C with a share of 49.11% reached the highest sales volume (240,308). When evaluated according to frame, most preferred body type was again Sedan (48.31%, a quantity of 236,424).
In the end of September 2016, when evaluated according to body type, Van vehicles with a share of 70.68% had the highest sales volume (103,990), Light trucks followed them with a share of 11.79% (17,350) while the share of Minibuses was 9.22% (13,573) and the share of Pick-ups was 8.31% (12,221) in light commercial vehicle market.

In comparison to the total number of 662,988 in the same period of 2015 in the passenger car and light commercial vehicle market, the sales went down in a ratio of 4.0%.

In the first nine months of 2016, passenger car sales went down by 2.3% in comparison to the same period of the year before and became 489,365 in Turkey's automotive market. In the same period of the last year, the sales reached 500,905.
In September 2016, passenger car sales went up by 9.03% in comparison to the same month of the year before and became 51,340. In September of the last year, the sales reached 47,088.
The passenger car market, in comparison to the average 10-year September sales, showed an increase of 23.57%.

In January-September period of 2016, light commercial vehicle sales decreased 9.22% in comparison to the same period of the last year, to 147,134 in Turkey's automotive market. In the same period of the last year, the sales reached 162,083.
In September 2016, light commercial vehicle sales decreased 4.04% in comparison to the same month of the last year, to 16,253. In September of the last year, the sales reached 16,937.
The light commercial vehicle market, in comparison to the average 10-year September sales, showed a decrease of 16.59%.
When the end of September 2016 passenger car market is studied in terms of engine volume, the biggest slice of the pie was taken by passenger cars under 1600cc with a ratio of 96.29% and a number of 471,187. Passenger cars between 1600 to 2000cc followed them with a ratio of 3.10% and passenger cars above 2000cc with a ratio of 0.60%. In comparison with the same period of 2015, a decrease of 1.89% in the sales of vehicles below 1600cc and a decrease of 6.71% in the sales of passenger cars with a 1600-2000cc motor volume was observed. As for the sales of the passenger cars over 2000cc, a decrease of 30.66% was observed. In the first nine months of 2016, 18 electric car below 85kW engine power and 20 electric cars above 121 kW engine power were sold.

When the end of September 2016 passenger car market is studied in terms of average emission values, passenger cars between 100-120 gr/km have the highest share of 46.12% (225,691) and following this, passenger cars between 120-140 gr/km have a share of 24.87% (121,699).

Diesel passenger car sales in the end of September 2016 decreased 1.46% in comparison to the same period last year. Diesel share in passenger car sales in the end of September 2016, when compared to the same period of 2015, increased from 61.49% to 62.02% (303,496).

In the end of September 2016, automatic transmission passenger car sales numbers, in comparison to the same period in 2015, increased 10.22%. Automatic transmission passenger car sale shares in the end of September 2016, in comparison to the same period of the previous year, increased from 50.68% to 57.18% (a number of 279,805).

In the end of September 2016, 81.44% of the passenger car market segment again consisted of the vehicles in the A, B and C segments whose tax ratios are low. When evaluated according to segments, Segment C with a share of 49.11% has the highest sales volume (240,308) and Segment B follows it with a share of 32.01% (156,644).
In the end of September 2016, when evaluated according to frame, most preferred body type was again Sedan (48.31%, a quantity of 236,424). Following Sedan passenger cars are Hatchback frame with a share of 30.87% and a sales volume of 151,077 and SUV with a share of 15.60% and total sales volume of 76,337.
In the end of September 2016, when evaluated according to body type, Van vehicles with a share of 70.68% had the highest sales volume (103,990), Light trucks followed them with a share of 11.79% (17,350) while the share of Minibuses was 9.22% (13,573) and the share of Pick-ups was 8.31% (12,221) in light commercial vehicle market.
