"I'm thrilled to be joining an esteemed group of professionals on BMI's Board of Directors," said Broadhurst, Vice President, New Technologies and Client Solutions, Oce North America, Production Printing Systems. "In this digital age, the changes experienced in just the last 10 years have been extraordinary. As technology continues to evolve at an increasingly dizzying pace, BMI will play an ever more important role in shaping the future direction of the book industry. I'm excited to be a part of that mission."
"BMI is proud to have Guy join the BMI Board of Directors," said Daniel Bach, Executive Vice President, BMI. "Guy will be very instrumental in the planning and development of programs that will provide value to the members of BMI, and support efforts to expand their membership base in the digital print markets."
For more than 25 years, Broadhurst worked in digital printing technology. At Oce North America, he has been responsible for directing development, positioning, marketing and sales support for all digital printing systems, document and workflow management software, media development, and pre- and post-processing and finishing alliances. Broadhurst has been directly involved in bringing a number of key innovations to market, ultimately helping many companies achieve their goals. A recognized industry expert, Broadhurst is also a popular conference speaker and columnist.
Broadhurst's election to BMI's Board of Directors marks his second such appointment in just over a year. In September 2011, Broadhurst was elected to the Board of Directors of the Accrediting Council for Collegiate Graphic Communications, Inc. (ACCGC), an independent body of industry and education professionals devoted to promoting excellence in graphic communications education. He views such honors as acknowledgement of the increasing role that digital press manufacturers are playing in today's book industry.
"These two Board appointments serve as proof of the recognition that manufacturers like Oce bring a wealth of information to help this industry," said Broadhurst. "It's a wonderful opportunity for me to help shape and influence and to receive as much knowledge as possible about what's going on in the industry which will in turn enable Oce to better serve its customers."
Founded in 1933, BMI is the leading nationally recognized trade association of the book manufacturing industry. From its efforts to promote readership and literacy to its unparalleled networking opportunities, BMI provides tremendous value to both its member companies and others associated with the book industry, serving as an intra-industry communications link between book manufacturers, publishers, suppliers, and governmental bodies.
