Oce ColorWave 600 Large Format Printer Enables Rapid Short-Run Poster and Signage Production
Easy-to-use system drives print provider revenues
CHICAGO, Oct. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Oce, an international leader in digital document management, offers the Oce ColorWave® printer that enables graphic arts print professionals to produce short-run posters and signage quickly and inexpensively. Oce will be demonstrating the Oce ColorWave 600 printer in its booth #1217 at the Graph Expo 2010 show in Chicago, October 3-6, 2010.
The Oce ColorWave 600 printer is a highly productive, roll-to-sheet, large format color printer that produces over 600 square feet per hour of instant-dry poster output on plain paper without the need for additional finishing. It uses patented Oce CrystalPoint® imaging technology that combines the best of toner and inkjet printing in one clean and sustainable system. Oce CrystalPoint technology uses solid Oce TonerPearls® color toner that produces crisp, high quality 1200 dpi prints that are instantly dry and waterfast.
The Oce ColorWave 600 printer enables print professionals to offer high quality, large format color output with extremely fast turnaround. Combined with the ability to print onto lower cost, uncoated media, applications such as short-run, disposable indoor and outdoor posters and signage can open doors to new business. Short-run color work on a tight timeline that used to be turned away due to high set up costs or required long wait times can now be quickly and profitably completed.
Easy to use, delivers optimal results
The Oce ColorWave 600 printer's ergonomic design makes it very easy to use. An operator standing in one spot can access all functional areas of the printer including the touch-screen operator panel, front loadable media drawers, Oce TonerPearl cartridges and the top media delivery tray. It needs little user interaction to produce high quality prints productively. Oce Print Assistant automatically chooses the right print mode (Economy, Production or Presentation) to deliver the best quality at the optimal speed for every file, so there is no need to view the content of the file to determine the optimal print mode.
Available with ONYX® workflow software Oce Edition, customers can optimize their color workflow and produce short-term graphics applications such as disposable point-of-purchase displays, posters, banners, signage and other business and consumer graphics applications. It can hold up to six media rolls, from 11 to 42 inches wide and up to 650 feet long. Media options include plain or recycled paper, polyester films, translucent paper, vellum, blueback papers, outdoor papers and Tyvek®.
Clean technology
Oce TonerPearls solid toner and Oce CrystalPoint imaging technology deliver robust prints on economical plain and recycled paper, eliminating the need to use chemical coatings on media to obtain the best print results. With Oce TonerPearls toner, there's no fine dust, odor or emissions so the printer can be placed anywhere, even in an office environment. There is minimal toner waste, which is non-toxic and can be disposed of with regular office refuse.
