Oce Business Services to Spotlight Records Management Solutions at ALA Annual Conference & Expo
Company will also Present: "Are Your Firm's Documents an Untapped Opportunity to Lower Costs and Improve Operations?"
BOSTON, May 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Oce Business Services, a leader in document process management services and technology, will spotlight solutions and best practices for effective control of law firm and corporate records management and eDiscovery processes this week at the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA) Annual Educational Conference and Exposition. Oce executives will also present on lowering costs and improving efficiency through document management best practices.
This year's ALA conference and expo, one of the premier events for the legal management field, will focus on enabling professionals to enhance their knowledge, develop management skills to successfully address daily challenges and maintain personal and professional growth. Educational sessions will spotlight creative strategies legal professionals can implement to help their organizations meet business challenges and be well positioned for growth as the U.S. economy begins to recover. The event takes place Monday, May 3 through Thursday, May 6, 2010 at the John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center in Boston.
A presentation by Oce executive Ted Ardelean will highlight how legal administrators are often responsible for maximizing their firm's document handling activities and improving document workflow. The session takes attendees through the linked document processes – mail, print/copy center operations, paper to digital conversion, distribution, and records management – and provides information on how legal administrators can help advance their firm's document management to the next level. The session takes place on Monday, May 3 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM in Convention Center Room 303.
Executives at the Oce Business Services' booth will be on hand to discuss findings of the company's recent survey that details how organizations are leveraging document management strategies to meet current economic challenges. Released April 26, the survey report, "At the Crossroads: Leveraging Document Management Strategies on the Path to Economic Recovery," explores how survey respondents and their organizations are deploying five document management processes to contain costs and realize other business benefits as the U.S. charts a path to economic recovery. The five document management activities include: document imaging, enterprise-wide print/copy, mail and shipping, records management, and fleet management (print/copy/fax fleet).
One trend uncovered by the survey is a significant number of companies plan to increase their spending for document imaging activities: 52 percent of survey respondents assert their organization's document imaging budget will increase while 42 percent said it would remain the same. Document imaging lowers the cost of storing and managing paper-based records while improving document retrieval and disaster recovery capabilities.
In addition to document imaging, organizations also are focused on records management: 51 percent of executives indicate that their company's records management spending will remain the same while 38 percent specified that spending would increase.
