OBX Boatworks to Debut Exciting New 32 Express at the Miami Boat Show
Expansion with six new composite models and new manufacturing facility located in High Point, North Carolina
HIGH POINT, N.C., Jan. 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- OBX Boatworks in partnership with Outer Banks Boatworks of Harkers Island, NC has expanded their manufacturing operation with a new composite boatbuilding factory in High Point, NC. OBX will present a new 32 Express at the Miami Boat Show in February 2012. The 326XP is the debut model for OBX and will be followed by 38' and 29' Express and 29', 26' and 24' Center Consoles.
Features
OBX models are true Carolina Style boats and feature sweeping sheers, beautiful hull flare and transom tumblehome and are built with composite construction. Fishing is the main focus of OBX models, but our new models are also designed with the cruising family in mind. Our interiors are luxurious and we have designed the 32 to yacht quality standards. Technology is designed into each boat and we are partnering with the industry innovators to achieve our "Tradition and Technology" goal. Each OBX will be semi-custom and designed with the client, so every owner has a boat that is unique to their tastes. "I believe there is a great market for our products and we will capture significant market share because we have a great product that is unique in our industry," said Brad Flater, Owner.
Job Creation
"OBX Boatworks will generate many new manufacturing jobs. There is tremendous furniture and boatbuilding talent in North Carolina. Unfortunately imports and the economy have adversely affected these two industries. I hope to have plenty of job opportunities after our debut at the Miami boat show. Each new order taken at the show will create four positions for the company and I want to support our city and to bring the once strong boat manufacturing business back to High Point, North Carolina. OBX also supports USA-built products and has partnered with Mercury Marine as our exclusive engine provider. Quality must be our goal and if a USA manufactured product meets our standards, we will definitely use them. We must bring the jobs back to the USA. I am proud to have the opportunity to build an American=made boat with American-made products and American talent," Flater continued.
