Obstetrics Services Now Available at St. Joseph's Hospital-North
TAMPA, Fla., Sept. 16 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Moms-to-be have asked for it and now St. Joseph's Hospital-North delivers a birthing experience like no other hospital stay. The area's first new hospital in more than 30 years has added obstetric services, bringing new moms and babies comfortable care in a soothing, elegant environment.
Longtime Tampa resident Jillian Boria, along with her husband Michael John, welcomed their son on Wednesday, September 15. Michael John Boria, III, entered the entered the world at 7:57 a.m., delivered by delivered by Irene N. Wahba, M.D. and weighing in at eight pounds, six ounces. Known as "Trip" to his family, he is not only the Borias' firstborn but he is also the first baby boy born at St. Joseph's Hospital-North.
"We chose this hospital because it is very close to our house, about 10 minutes away," said Jillian, who was born 25 years ago at a sister hospital, St. Joseph's Women's Hospital in Tampa. "It is really nicely set up so it was a really good experience."
And these new parents weren't alone; they were joined by new grandparents and an uncle, all of whom enjoyed a comfortable visit with their newest family member.

Obstetrical Services
Obstetrical services include four private, spacious labor and delivery rooms equipped with a labor bed that has multiple positions specially designed for comfort during delivery, a shower specially designed for use during labor and an innovative infant warmer that quickly distributes warmth through a recessed heater while also serving as an in-bed scale.
Comforts of Home
Moms and babies can recover together in one of 12 private suites beautifully outfitted with dark chocolate cabinetry and wood floors, plush fabrics and mosaic glass. In addition to the large high definition TV, these suites include an individually controlled entertainment system, a large bathroom with a full-size shower, an upholstered rocking chair and an in-room family area.
A Family-Centered Experience
Private, spacious labor and delivery suites include the latest in birthing amenities with plenty of room to accommodate an overnight guest. Relatives and friends can wait comfortably in the family lounge, which features plush seating, a kitchenette and a great view of the newborn nursery.
