Observable Networks Releases "ONA" Source Code For IT Security
ST. LOUIS, Oct. 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Observable Networks Inc., an emerging leader of network security technology and advanced threat detection services, today announced extensions to the Observable Network Appliance (ONA) source code, which are available as an open source project under the Apache version 2.0 license. Observable Networks has always published the source of ONA's IP traffic metadata collection software, and today's announcement is the next step in Observable's commitment to understanding device roles and behaviors within networks.
The following capabilities are now publicly available:
- The IP traffic metadata collector
- The NetFlow metadata collector
- The SNMP and Syslog notification publishers
- Various operating system integration scripts
- A Docker file for monitoring containerized applications
The project's documentation also includes information on how to install the ONA on various platforms.
"Making the ONA source code available to everyone, in particular our customers, means that there can be complete assurance regarding the data being collected from a network," said Bryan Doerr, CEO of Observable Networks. "As we continue to enhance the ONA, we'll ensure that its source code will always be available."
