Obama Nominee, Hernan D. Vera, Is Confirmed to the Board of Directors of the State Justice Institute
WASHINGTON, June 24 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The United States Senate voted on June 22, 2010 to confirm Hernan D. Vera, President & CEO of Public Counsel, to the Board of Directors of the State Justice Institute. Vera was nominated for the post by President Obama on January 20, 2010.
The State Justice Institute is a non-profit corporation governed by an 11-member Board of Directors appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate. It was established by federal law in 1984 to award grants to improve the quality of justice in state courts, and foster innovative, efficient solutions to common issues faced by all courts.

Public Counsel is the largest pro bono law firm in the nation.
