About Haneda Airport
Tokyo International Airport at Haneda, the core base of Japan Airport Terminal Co., Ltd., was returned to Japan by the United States in 1952, at which time its name was changed from "Tokyo Aerodrome" to "Tokyo International Airport". With this resumption of the gateway to Japan, there was an urgent necessity to provide the facility with the functions of an international airport fully capable of serving Tokyo. Japan Airport Terminal Co., Ltd. was established to meet this crucial need and soon commissioned to construct and manage the terminal building with private capital in cooperation with Japan's leading business companies.
