NYLON and Socialyte Host Rebel Fashion Event
Celebrates the 2014 Socialyte Awards and NYLON's September Issue
NEW YORK, Aug. 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- NYLON magazine and Socialyte will celebrate their collaborative fashion point of view with an inaugural Rebel Fashion event, Monday, September 8, 2014, at Tao Downtown Lounge. The event will showcase NYLON's September fashion issue and reveal the winners of the 2014 Socialyte Awards, given to the most influential personalities in fashion, beauty and luxury lifestyle media.
The invitation-only event will be held during NY Fashion Week and co-hosted by Michelle Lee, editor-in-chief, NYLON and Beca Alexander, co-founder and president, Socialyte.
"NYLON is the original fashion rebel. We were one of the first to merge fashion & style with entertainment, and to mix high, low and street style," says Lee. "Mixing it up with Socialyte to honor some of the leading digital influencers and innovators and celebrate our September issue makes for the perfect fashion uprising."
"The talents we represent and cast at Socialyte are the definition of Rebel Fashion. They've gone against the traditional to pave their own path to the front row, " says Alexander.
NYLON's September "Rebel Fashion" issue features cover girl Aubrey Plaza in an 8-page fashion editorial along with the magazine's signature mix of what's fresh from the runways and streets, with a focus on the season's top trends. Additional highlights include fashion features saluting club kids, David Bowie, and retro '60s chic. In addition, the issue reveals the winners of NYLON's 3rd Annual Beauty Awards.
One of fashion blogging's most anticipated events, the Socialyte Awards is a must-attend gathering of the social media elite that garners worldwide media attention. Last year's Socialyte Awards honored Chiara Ferragni of the Blonde Salad as Socialyte of the Year, while Bryan Boy, Aimee Song and Rumi Neely won Industry Choice Awards, and Justin Liv and Jenny Ong were honored for content direction. Other honorees included Stylecaster, BeautyHigh, Refinery 29, Andy Torres of StyleScrapbook, Doina Ciobanu of The Golden Diamonds and Danielle Bernstein of We Wore What, to name a few.
