NY State Court Dismisses Alleged Whistleblower And Other Claims Against TradingScreen
NEW YORK, Sept. 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- On September 14, 2012, Judge Anil C. Singh of the Supreme Court of the State of New York, New York County, dismissed claims against TradingScreen Inc. and its Chief Executive Officer Philippe Buhannic asserted by Patrick Egan, a former employee of the company, alleging violation of the Delaware Whistleblowers' Protection Act and wrongful termination of Mr. Egan. All that remains in the suit are portions of claims relating to certain alleged severance compensation to which the company has stated unequivocally that Mr. Egan is not entitled.
As previously reported, on September 12, 2011, the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York also dismissed with prejudice similar claims against TradingScreen and Mr. Buhannic that had been asserted by Mr. Egan. Now, with this most recent New York State Supreme Court decision, both federal and state courts in New York have determined that Mr. Egan's allegations of unlawful conduct are baseless.
