Nusta Spa Reopens Under New Management
Founder Elizabeth Snowdon Shares Ownership with Two Star Employees
WASHINGTON, March 15 /PRNewswire/ -- After an eight-week hiatus, Nusta Spa has recently reopened under the direction of a new ownership team, including founder Elizabeth Snowdon and long-standing employees, Tonia Briscoe and Brad Drummer.
Briscoe and Drummer, both service providers at the downtown Washington, D.C. location, were recently brought into ownership by Snowdon who established the day spa in May 2004.
"Tonia and Brad have been instrumental in helping me run Nusta for the last six years," explains Snowdon, "and I wanted to acknowledge their commitment and hard work with an ownership stake in the business."
Briscoe, one of Nusta's original employees, is a licensed treatment specialist with more than 20 years of spa experience. Hired by Snowdon as a licensed esthetician, she quickly moved into a Spa Director role where she was responsible for employee hiring and training, retail merchandising, and quality control issues, such as service, cleanliness and product usage.
Drummer, a former medical student with a special interest in musculoskeletal anatomy, created a revolutionary form of deep tissue massage known as Interpretive Touch®. He joined Nusta in 2005 bringing with him this technique that uses pulsating pressure and wave induction strokes to deeply impact muscles. It quickly became Nusta's signature treatment.
"As a spa owner, I have had countless massages, but Brad's technique offers something completely unique--a therapeutic, deep tissue treatment that is relaxing, not painful," said Snowdon. "His experience as a successful massage therapist will prove invaluable as he assumes an ownership position at Nusta."
In his new role, Drummer will spearhead all marketing initiatives for the spa with Briscoe leading the administrative efforts. Snowdon will maintain majority ownership with an oversight role over all spa operations.
