Nurse.com Reveals 2016 GEM Awards Finalists

BROOKFIELD, Wis., July 6, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Continuing a nearly 30-year tradition of recognizing nurses in a variety of specialties, Nurse.com has released the names of 148 finalists for its 2016 GEM (Giving Excellence Meaning) Awards.

GEM finalists in five regions across the U.S. have been selected, representing the Mid-Atlantic states, Midwest states, Northeast states, West states, and South & New GEM states.

Finalists for the GEM program were chosen in five categories: Excellence in Clinical Nursing, Excellence in Community Care, Excellence in Education and Mentorship, Excellence in Executive Leadership and Excellence in Management.

Regional winners will be announced at one of four GEM Award dinners, beginning with Aug. 19 in Los Angeles. Recognition events also will take place Sept. 9 in Teaneck, N.J., Sept. 23 in Philadelphia and Sept. 30 in Chicago. The Rising Star Award also will be presented at each of the regional events to recognize outstanding nurses who are new to the profession.

Winners in the South & New GEM states will be announced online Aug. 26.

Regional winners in all categories will be judged as part of the national GEM Awards competition, with those winners being announced in January 2017.
