BRENTWOOD, Tenn., Sept. 6, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Numotion has partnered with The Sing Me a Story Foundation to share unique stories of kids served by the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). The MDA has a deep commitment to transform the lives of adults, children and families affected by neuromuscular diseases (muscular dystrophy, ALS and other related diseases). Sing Me a Story, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization based in Nashville, TN, combines the imaginations of children with the talents of songwriters to create wonderful stories and songs.
Numotion customer and MDA Ambassador, Carlee Beam, recently met with the Sing Me a Story team to write and illustrate her own story about her family and her journey living with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). Carlee's personal story was put to music by singer/songwriter, Rachael Davis, and is called One Strong Little Ma'am. The making of Carlee's video was documented by Sing Me a Story and shows the process from Carlee's story idea to the final song reveal.
"This is an opportunity to bring together the missions of three organizations in a truly unique and positive way," said Bret Barczak, chief marketing officer at Numotion. "Allowing kids to be kids by using their creativity, and then having a professional songwriter turn their message into a song that conveys the heart and spirit of these awesome kids was something that we saw as a great opportunity to get involved with and help promote."
Using this concept, Sing Me a Story creates jukebox campaigns for each song shared on their website in an effort to raise money for partnering organizations and Sing Me a Story. All donations from Carlee's song will go to MDA and Sing Me a Story and donors will receive an Mp3 file of the song.
"We believe the greatest gift is the gift of giving," said Austin Atteberry, executive director and co-founder of The Sing Me a Story Foundation. "It is our goal to give the children we serve an opportunity to give the one thing they all have regardless of circumstance, their imaginations, and to bring those imaginations to the world through music. Thank you to Numotion and the Muscular Dystrophy Association for the opportunity to do that."
Numotion's ongoing partnership with MDA has helped to foster this new relationship with Sing Me a Story and showcase some of the amazing children living with various forms of neuromuscular diseases.
"MDA is proud to partner with these organizations to showcase the creativity and inspiring stories of some of the phenomenal kids we are proud to serve," said Amanda Spiehler, national director of partnerships of the Muscular Dystrophy Association. "Carlee's song is not only about living with spinal muscular atrophy, but it's about her journey and her family and this is just one example of the powerful stories our families have to share with the world."
