NueMD Survey: MACRA has medical practices feeling 'uncertain' ahead of upcoming deadline
ATLANTA, Aug. 24, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- NueMD today announced the results of its 2017 industry survey measuring how knowledgeable healthcare professionals are about The Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA) and what outcomes they expect the new payment model to have on their practice.
Conducted in June 2017, the survey of more than 1,000 healthcare professionals revealed both small and large practices don't know a lot about MACRA and many feel uncertain about its potential impact on healthcare.
Key findings include:
- 50% of those surveyed said they are not familiar with MACRA
- 56% are unsure if they are expected to participate in 2017
- 49% have not encountered information on MACRA
"We were surprised to see how many healthcare professionals had never come across any information about MACRA," said Caleb Clarke, director of marketing at NueMD.
The survey results are published on NueMD's website alongside free MACRA-related resources.
"The deadline to begin collecting MIPS data is October 2nd," added Clarke. "There's definitely still time for those struggling with MACRA to get up to speed, but they need to start now."
