NTU Media Call on House Discussion Draft for Puerto Rico
WASHINGTON, March 30, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Today, March 30 at 2:30pm EDT, NTU President Pete Sepp will host legal scholar Logan Beirne of Yale Law School to analyze the Discussion Draft of the House Natural Resources Committee legislation to provide oversight to Puerto Rico.
Puerto Rico has found itself in dire financial straits due to economic mismanagement and overspending, among other things. The Discussion Draft of the legislation, which is spearheaded by Committee Chair Rob Bishop (R-UT), would create unprecedented powers for the Commonwealth and would, for the first time in U.S. History, impose a stay on litigation by creditors.
NTU's Sepp and Yale's Beirne will discuss the draft and the unprecedented powers the legislation seeks to give the oversight board with regard to debt restructuring.
To attend the call, RSVP to Jenn Fedor at [email protected].
