ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla., Feb. 13, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- NTE Energy will soon open an office in Charlotte, North Carolina, as the independent power producer expands both its customer base and its influence across the Carolinas.
Located on the 27th floor of Charlotte Plaza, the 1,854 square-foot office will serve as a satellite office for NTE staff working with the company's Carolina customers. Currently, NTE provides power to 12 municipalities and electric co-operative customers across the Carolinas, including four new communities that began service from NTE on January 1 – Greenwood and McCormick, South Carolina; and the North Carolina communities of Concord and Kings Mountain, which is home to NTE's 475-megawatt Kings Mountain Energy Center.
"As more and more communities across the Carolinas recognize the economic and environmental benefits of receiving cleaner, more affordable power from NTE Energy, it made sense for us to open an office in Charlotte," said CEO Seth Shortlidge, who noted that NTE currently has offices in Boston and St. Augustine, Florida. "NTE is a very customer-focused company, and this new Charlotte office will help us provide the personal, responsive service our Carolina customers deserve and have come to expect from us."
The Charlotte office will provide meeting space for NTE staff engaged in the multiple development projects the company has underway in North and South Carolina. NTE is currently constructing a 475-megawatt natural gas-fired power plant in Reidsville, North Carolina and is developing a 1,500-megawatt plant in Anderson County, South Carolina. The company is also developing the Fayetteville Solar Energy Center, a 30-megawatt facility that will provide communities served by NTE with an affordable source of clean, renewable energy through NTE's SolarSelect program.
Current plans call for the NTE Charlotte office to be ready for occupancy by the end of February, Shortlidge said, with a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony to be held shortly thereafter.
