There were in-depth discussions about the challenging economic, regulatory, legal and business climate facing pain management as a whole. Over 300 attendees, physicians and administrators, traveled from all over the country to participate in this unique conference and included over 30 speakers from numerous business disciplines.
Nationally and internationally, Pain Medicine practitioners often gather to discuss clinical areas of interest. But prior to this event, there has never been a conference dedicated specifically to helping pain management practices survive and thrive in this increasingly complex, dynamic climate.
"Drs. Bakshi, Diwan and I were honored to host Pain Medicine's first business-focused conference. We are all facing unprecedented headwinds to our practices, issues that can and will impact the economics of our field and the future of our specialty. In this macroeconomic environment, our field need a business forum where we can all openly share solution to the business challenges ahead," says Dr. Les Zuckerman, Chief Medical Officer of National Spine & Pain Centers.
The keynote speaker was none other than Joe Theismann, former Redskins Quarterback and NFL "on air" commentator, who spoke to attendees about the significance of leadership and thanked physicians for providing compassionate care and supporting patients who suffer from acute and chronic pain.
The NSPC leadership team and support staff were all thrilled by the success of this event and look forward to next year's Business of Pain Conference.
