NSHMBA Conference Returns to Chicago for its 2015 NSHMBA Conference & Career Expo
CHICAGO, Oct. 5, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA) returns to the city of its first-ever conference location this week as they host their 2015 NSHMBA Conference & Career Expo at the McCormick Place in Chicago, October 8 -10, 2015. NSHMBA has partnered with the Lincoln Motor Company, Nationwide, the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) and Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU) to bring an expected 5,000 professionals, students, recruiters and hiring managers together for the purpose of building and fortifying connections within the Hispanic community through a variety of recruiting opportunities.
"Chicago was the location of NHSMBA's first conference and like that first conference in 1990, we have the whole world before us," said Thomas Savino, NSHMBA Interim CEO. "Our leadership is fresh, energetic, and excited to continue finding innovative new ways to assist all Hispanic professionals in reaching their full educational, economic and social potential."
Professionals with all levels of experience - along with high school, undergraduate and graduate students – are able to explore top-choice job opportunities with the potential to get hired on the spot. Attendees will also be able to benefit from incredible learning opportunities as the event offers professional development sessions, on-site career management services, and an abundance of networking events.
Marquee events will host CEOs, motivational speakers, and civic leaders, among them being NSHMBA Interim CEO Thomas Savino, Johnson & Johnson CEO Alex Gorsky, Award-Winning Actor and Director Tony Plana, Vice President of Nation Sales Manager Financial Institutions Hernan Fonseca, and Motivational Speaker and Corporate Trainer Rod Colón. Other highlights at the 2015 NSHMBA Conference & Career Expo include the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony formalizing the opening of the Expo floor, the NSHMBA Rally for NSHMBA members, the IGNITE and EXPLORE programs for high school and undergraduate students and the NSHMBA Gala and Brillante Awards Dinner.
Academic Co-lead GMAC is a big supporter of the IGNITE initiative. "GMAC views IGNITE as an opportunity to build a bridge between talented Hispanic undergraduate students and the graduate business schools looking to recruit them," said Sabrina White, GMAC vice president, Market Development for the Americas. "We know that a graduate management degree often leads to higher earnings, job satisfaction and personal fulfillment; and taking the GMAT® exam is a candidate's first step to achieving these results."
Attendees are also invited to the Career Management Center included in their registration fee where they can take advantage of a personal career boot camp to experience in-depth coaching, real-time resume editing, live interview practice and tips on how to present themselves to recruiters.
"NSHMBA does more than just give a space for Hispanic professionals to get a job," said Savino, "the organization wants to make sure that up-to and beyond an MBA the Hispanic community continues to grow and continues to build upon the strong foundation laid by leaders before me for those leaders who are only now just rising."
