NRL Awards Five Year Contract to SGT for Engineering Services to the Space Science Division

GREENBELT, Md., Dec. 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- SGT, Inc., a leading provider of Science and Engineering Services today announced that the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) has awarded SGT a five-year contract to provide engineering services to develop space science instruments and experimental payloads for NRL's Space Science Division (SSD) (NRL Code 7600).

Under the Research, Development, and Engineering for Space Science Instruments and Experimental Payloads (SSIEP) contract, SGT will provide engineering services for the following three functional areas of the contract: 1) Research & Development Engineering Functions (which include thermal systems engineering, contamination engineering, instrument optical and RF engineering, instrument systems engineering, mechanisms engineering, mechanical systems engineering, electrical systems engineering), 2) Hardware Fabrication, Inspection, Assembly, Integration, and Testing, 3) Mission Assurance. 

The maximum value of this single award, cost-plus-fixed fee term type contract is $20 Million. The SGT team includes Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corporation, Edge Space Systems, Inc., Genesis Engineering Solutions, Inc., Libration Systems Management, Inc., Pinnacle Engineering & Management Solutions, LLC, Polaris Technology Solutions, and Research Support Instruments.
