WASHINGTON, Dec. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- One week before what would have been slain civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr.'s 86th birthday, Alveda King – MLK's niece and daughter of civil rights activist A.D. King – will candidly discuss how her uncle would have viewed some of today's most controversial topics, including gun violence, abortion and the seemingly never-ending war on poverty.
Alveda King is a Christian minister, civil rights activist, pro-life activist and author of numerous books including the new King Rules, in which she addresses what she sees as the nation's need for "genuine servant leaders" to counter "the forces of moral drift and empty relativism." She once served as a Senior Fellow at the conservative think-tank The Alexis de Tocqueville Institution and is a former member of Georgia's House of Representatives.
