WASHINGTON, May 5, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide will be the subject of a Newsmaker news conference in the Club's West Room, May 7 at 9 a.m.
Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, joined by National Commemoration of the Armenian Genocide Centennial (NAGC) Chairman and 100 LIVES Co-Founder Noubar Afeyan, will discuss the events of 100 years ago and also will highlight memorial events being held in Washington and across the globe during the week by the Armenian community.
Thousands of Armenians, along with policymakers, religious leaders from the U.S., Canada and around the world – will be gathering on May 7-9 in Washington, D.C., to remember the 1.5 million men, women and children who perished a century ago. Commemoration events also will honor individuals and organizations that worked to save Armenians in 1915.
