NPA Wins Top National Honors for Its Research Program
WASHINGTON, June 26, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Parking Association (NPA) has been honored with the ASAE 2015 Power of A Silver Award for its parking industry research program. The Power of A Awards are granted annually by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) to showcase how select associations distinguish themselves with innovative, effective and broad-reaching programs and activities that positively impact the world.
"Each year the Power of A Awards recognize the lasting, positive impact associations have on society," said ASAE President & CEO John H. Graham, FASAE, CAE.
NPA's comprehensive research fills an information gap in the parking industry, and provides analytics to address major knowledge areas across both public and private parking sectors. These sectors include commercial operators, hospitals, universities, municipalities, airport, off-airport, industry suppliers and engineering/architecture consulting firms.
Over the past four years, and through a partnership with NPA member Denison Parking, NPA has released six distinct research reports, including yearly updates:
- The Size and Scope of Parking in America
- The NPA Parking Demand Report
- Parking Rate Survey
- Purchasing Power
- Technology Trends
- Top 25 Cities Rate Report
"NPA research provides strategic, longitudinal industry data and analysis to the nearly 29,000 professionals employed in the parking industry," said NPA President Christine Banning, CAE. "This information allows parking leaders to understand market shifts and trends, giving them the tools to make informed decisions to positively impact their communities."
NPA research allows parking professionals to properly evaluate their products and service offerings and manage change, including marketing to their customer base.
Since NPA began offering research in 2011, membership in the association has increased by 50 percent. Additionally, research has become a focus of NPA's annual convention education, featuring an annual economic forecast.
Because NPA members and other parking professionals are constantly seeking best practices and current industry findings, the research program inspired an overhaul of NPA's website. WeAreParking.org was launched in January 2015 with up-to-date parking research-based learning tools, including articles, how-to guides, case studies, best practices, e-books and special reports.
About NPA: The National Parking Association is the nation's leading parking trade group advancing the interests of the private and public sector in parking technology, sustainable mobility, certification, advocacy, research and education.
