NPA Honors Jed Hatfield, CPP with Harwood Leadership & Legends Award

WASHINGTON, Feb. 9, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Parking Association (NPA) honored Jed Hatfield, CPP of Colonial Parking in Delaware with, the parking industry's highest honor, the Brett Harwood Leadership & Legends Award. The award was presented to Hatfield at the NPA Winter Leadership Forum. This prestigious national honor recognizes lifelong leadership, excellence and integrity.

During Hatfield's tenure, he led an organizational transformation, acquisition of a valet parking association and launch of NPA's Research Program. Hatfield has been a long-time member of NPA, and held national Board of Directors roles from 1998 to 2012. He served on the Executive Committee as chair-elect and vice chair, and was Chairman of the Board from 2010-2012. He chaired the National Leadership Advisory Board from 2013-2014.
Hatfield is President of Colonial Parking, a family-owned business founded by his father, Richard G. "Dick" Hatfield in 1956. His father, was honored as the Harwood Leadership Award honoree in 2015. Colonial Parking has more than 40 parking facilities, 285 employees and management operations in the Wilmington, Del., and Delaware County and Philadelphia, Pa., areas. Hatfield has significant experience with the design and construction review as well as initial implementation of parking control systems, and he has been actively involved in the design, construction and management of several major garages.
Recognizing the critical link between parking and real estate, Mr. Hatfield is also the President of the Committee of 100, an economic development organization, Wilmington, Delaware; an Executive Committee Member of the Wilmington Renaissance Corporation; an Executive Committee Member of Downtown Visions, Wilmington's Business Improvement District (BID); and a member of the Commercial-Industrial Realty Council in Wilmington, Delaware.
Active in the community, Mr. Hatfield is the founding Co-Chair of the Crozer-Chester Foundation Professional Group; a Member of the Board of Directors of Artisans Bank; and a member of the Caesar Rodney Rotary Club.
About the Award: The Board of Directors of NPA established the Brett Harwood Leadership & Legends Award in 2013 to honor lifetime achievement in parking industry leadership. Hatfield is the fourth recipient of the award and was honored January 31st at the association's Winter Leadership Forum.
