DEERFIELD, Ill., Nov. 16, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The newly-developed 2.3-acre lot at 700 Lake Cook Road has a new 9,000sf Portillo's that opened yesterday, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Dick Portillo and Deerfield Mayor, Harriet Rosenthal. Over 70 people joined them to sample a Chicago-style Dog and a Pumpkin Pie shake!
Novak's work on the development included demolition of an existing building, new site utilities, curbs, asphalt paving and all site improvements. This Portillo's restaurant is only the second of their forty-six to have a 1970's theme, complete with a flowered "peace" bus on display. This is a precast structure with full brick exterior, patio and exterior architectural steel elements. Noted Novak's Restaurant Division VP and Portillo's Project Director, Dan Moriarity, "We are honored to be included on the Portillo's team and to bring this iconic brand to the north shore. We look forward to the next opening in Harwood Heights."
In addition to Moriarity, Novak Construction was represented by Owner, John G. Novak; CFO, Michael Kanzler; and project team members, Steve Gourley, Michael Bathe, Maddie Novak and Angela Campisi.
