Nova Southeastern University Names Lisa Deziel as Dean of the College of Pharmacy
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. and DAVIE, Fla., Aug. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Nova Southeastern University (NSU) President and CEO George L. Hanbury II, Ph.D., recently announced the appointment of Lisa Deziel, Pharm.D., Ph.D., as dean of NSU's College of Pharmacy (COP). Deziel has served in a number of administrative positions within the college, including associate professor and executive associate dean, interim dean, acting chair of Pharmacy Practice, assistant dean for academic innovation and technology, and assistant dean for academic affairs.
Chancellor of NSU's Health Professions Division Fred Lippman, R.Ph., Ed.D., stated that Dean Deziel has a proven track record of success at NSU and has been instrumental in the growth of the College of Pharmacy over the years. Deziel has served as a faculty member with the college since 1989 and has worked tirelessly to create new opportunities for students ensuring NSU remains the premiere university at which to pursue a graduate degree in pharmacy.
Deziel is a licensed pharmacist in Florida and Georgia, a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist and a Fellow in the American Society of Health System Pharmacists. She has been involved in pharmacy education for more than 25 years and holds a Ph.D. in computer technology, specializing in the use of technology in education. Her primary teaching and research interests have been in oncology, pharmacy education, pharmacy workforce issues, and technology, and she has delivered national and international presentations in the area of pharmacy education.

Deziel attended Duke University for undergraduate studies and received her B.S. in Pharmacy and Pharm.D. degrees from Mercer University College of Pharmacy. She completed a post-doctoral residency in Clinical Pharmacy at Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
