PHILADELPHIA, March 29, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Cohen, Placitella & Roth, PC, Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd LLP, and Evangelista & Associates, LLC announce class certification has been granted allowing a class of shareholders to proceed in a law suit named In Re Evergreen Ultra Short Opportunities Fund Securities Litigation.
The litigation asserts claims for alleged violations of the federal securities laws against a number of firms and individuals claimed to be responsible for operating and managing the Evergreen Ultra Short Opportunities Fund. On August 10, 2011, the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts entered an Order, pursuant to Rule 23 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, certifying the case to proceed as a class action on behalf of a Class defined as follows:

ALL PERSONS WHO PURCHASED OR OTHERWISE ACQUIRED SHARES OF THE EVERGREEN ULTRA SHORT OPPORTUNITIES FUND BETWEEN OCTOBER 28, 2005 AND JUNE 18, 2008, INCLUSIVE, AND WHO WERE DAMAGED THEREBY.
The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 98, NECA Electrical Workers Joint Apprenticeship Training Trust Fund, First Agency Account LP, Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 1 of PA/DE Health and Welfare Fund, and the Bricklayers Local 54 of Pennsylvania Supplemental Welfare Fund have been appointed as Class Representatives.
