CHICAGO, Nov. 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Physician-Patient Alliance for Health & Safety announced today that Michael W. Jopling, MD – currently an Anesthesiologist with NorthStar Anesthesia at several central Ohio medical institutions, Chief Medical Officer of Cardiox Corporation (Columbus), Executive Vice President of Accel Anesthesia (Columbus), and Co-Founder of Medical Electronic Innovations (Milwaukee) – has joined the Physician-Patient Alliance Board of Advisors.

A 1980 graduate of the West Virginia University School of Medicine, Dr. Jopling spent his first 14 years of professional practice in academic anesthesia between West Virginia University (WVU) and The Ohio State University (OSU). During his time at WVU, he served as Section Chief of Cardiovascular Anesthesia, Vice-chairman and OR Director. From 1998 through 2014, he was in private practice at Mount Carmel St. Ann's Hospital. At St. Ann's, he actively served on many hospital committees, including 10 years as the Chairman of Anesthesiology, Chairman of the Surgical Administrative Committee, and two years as President of the Medical Staff.
Throughout his career, Dr. Jopling's administrative experience and knowledge of anesthesia and operating room processes have yielded numerous contributions to patient safety, contracting, quality improvement, surgeon satisfaction, staffing, recruiting, pharmaceuticals and technology.
