Norton Herrick's Animal Kingdom, Part Of Team Valor, Heads To 2013 Dubai World Cup
NEW YORK, March 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Real estate leader and Film/Broadway producer Norton Herrick, as part of Team Valor, is gearing up for his thoroughbred, Animal Kingdom, to take on the $10,000,000 World Cup race in Dubai next week.
Herrick's The Herrick Company holds investments in thoroughbred horse racing, which reached new heights in 2011 when Animal Kingdom, trained by Graham Motion, won the Kentucky Derby and came in 2nd in the Preakness; and in 2012, another one of his great thoroughbreds, Went the Day Well, ran 4th in the Kentucky Derby.
The 2013 Dubai World Cup (G1) is held at Meydan Racecourse, the world's largest integrated racing facility, with a seating capacity for over 60,000. The racing season annually begins in November and is highlighted by the Dubai World Cup Carnival that starts in January and features some of biggest names in racing for the duration, which culminates with the world's richest day in racing. Animal Kingdom will race in the day's richest race, the Dubai World Cup with a $10,000,000 purse at stake. The race brings in the best thoroughbred horses from all over the World ages three and up to race 1 1/4 miles on synthetic surface.
