Northwestern Memorial HealthCare Named Among Top Nonprofits for Executive Women
Hospitals honored by National Association for Female Executives for the fourth consecutive year
CHICAGO, Feb. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Association for Female Executives (NAFE) has named Northwestern Memorial HealthCare among the NAFE Top 10 Nonprofits for Executive Women for the fourth consecutive year. Northwestern Memorial HealthCare is among an esteemed group of nonprofits to make the list, which recognizes organizations who have established policies to encourage women's advancement and whose practices demonstrate that commitment. Both Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital are included in the elite award recognition.

To be considered for the NAFE Top Companies or Top Nonprofits list, companies must have a minimum of two women on their board of directors as well as at least 1,000 employees. Criteria reviewed during the application process include female representation, hiring, attrition and promotion rates and advancement programs. Special attention is also paid to women at the highest ranks and those with profit-and-loss responsibility.
At Northwestern Memorial 67 percent of the leadership team is comprised of women and 78 percent of the total workforce is women.
