NorthWestern Energy to Seek Additional Community Renewable Energy Projects in Montana
BUTTE, Mont., July 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- NorthWestern Corporation, d/b/a NorthWestern Energy (NYSE: NWE), is preparing a Request for Proposals (RFP) to be released soon seeking approximately 25 MW of renewable generation that will qualify under Montana's community renewable resource requirement. The RFP is intended to identify resources that can help NorthWestern Energy meet its obligations to procure cost-effective renewable energy from community-owned projects in Montana.
NorthWestern Energy projects a growing need for additional energy resources starting in 2014 and 2015 and needs additional community renewable projects starting in 2013. NorthWestern Energy encourages new and existing local developers to begin thinking of how they can bring forward a qualifying home-grown renewable energy resource for the benefit of its electricity consumers in Montana. Additional details regarding the criteria for qualification will be included in the RFP once it is issued.
NorthWestern Energy asks that anybody with questions about the process or who may be interested in participating in the RFP to contact Lands Energy Consulting so that they receive RFP documents and schedule notices in a timely fashion. NorthWestern Energy will announce the release of the RFP through the media as well as post the details on its website once it is available.
