Northwell Health Ranked No. 3 Health System in Latest Diversity List

"Receiving this recognition five years in a row from DiversityInc validates Northwell Health's approach to diversity and inclusion within health care," said Jennifer Mieres, MD, chief diversity and inclusion officer and senior vice president of the health system's Center for Equity of Care. DiversityInc's Top 12 Hospitals and Health Systems recognition is based upon CEO and leadership commitment; talent and workforce engagement and supplier diversity. Organizations also stood out for its employee resource group participation; manager participation in cross-cultural mentoring; executive diversity councils setting goals tied to executive compensation; and educating and mentoring diverse suppliers.

• VALOR engages and positively impacts military personnel, veterans and family members to ensure they achieve successful community re-entry, gainful employment, and overall well-being. Northwell Health was recognized in 2017 as a Military Friendly organization.
