PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla., Feb. 27, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Northwell Health was named today as the Official Healthcare Provider of the 2019 PGA Championship, which will be held at Bethpage Black, in Farmingdale, New York, May 13-19.
With 23 hospitals, more than 700 outpatient facilities and approximately 68,000 employees throughout the New York metropolitan area, Northwell is headquartered on Long Island—also home to Bethpage. Northwell will provide all necessary medical services to promote a safe PGA Championship for all players, spectators and volunteers, utilizing three on-course medical stations staffed by Northwell Health emergency medicine physicians and orthopedic surgeons, as well as registered nurses and certified athletic trainers.
Emergency care will be covered by the health system's Center for Emergency Medical Services, the largest hospital-based ambulance service in the metropolitan area. Northwell staff will also offer education on prevention and wellness for attendees.
