Northshore Housing Initiative to Hire New Staff, Thanks to $16K Grant

COVINGTON, La., Nov. 17, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Northshore Housing Initiative (NHI), a developer of affordable housing in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana, will receive a $16,000 Partnership Grant Program (PGP) award from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas) and four of its member institutions: Whitney Bank, Home Bank, Fidelity Bank, and First Bank & Trust. The check presentation will take place at 9:00 a.m., Friday, November 20, 2015, at 428 E. Boston Street in Covington, Louisiana, 70433. The media is encouraged to attend.

NHI will use the funding to purchase a computer and hire a new employee, who will handle inquiries and applications from prospective homebuyers.

PGP awards provide grants up to $12,000 to community-based organizations (CBOs) that may be used for research, organizational capacity-building, grant- and funding-application assistance, or contractual services. PGP funding allows FHLB Dallas member institutions to contribute $500 up to $4,000 to a CBO, which FHLB Dallas matches at a 3:1 ratio.
