The assessment, which was conducted by Norausky Process Solutions Inc., an independent organization, signifies Northrop Grumman's excellence in software development and management.
Higher maturity levels signify lower risk to successful program execution. Maturity Level 5 indicates performing at an "optimizing" level, demonstrating that the organization continually improves its processes based on a quantitative understanding of its business objectives and performance needs.
CMMI® is a process improvement framework that organizations use to improve their ability to build and maintain quality products and services. The framework defines a set of objective standards for assessing an organization's full range of engineering and organizational processes. CMMI® is also a collection of best practices that addresses process performance, product costs, risks and quality; it emphasizes alignment of the process improvement objectives with organizational business objectives.
