Northern Light Wraps Up Successful 2015 with the Addition of Seven Fortune 1000 Clients
BOSTON, Dec. 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Northern Light® today reported that 2015 was its most successful year since launching the company in 2003 with an exclusive focus on providing strategic research portals to the world's leading research-driven enterprises. Billings increased 21 percent over 2014, and the company added seven Fortune 1000 clients in the information technology, pharmaceutical, healthcare, insurance and publishing industries.
Also in 2015 Northern Light launched its first mobile apps, Northern Light IT News™, available for iOS, Android, BlackBerry and Windows Phone devices. In addition, Northern Light launched Millie™ (http://millie.northernlight.com), the first market and competitive intelligence portal available free on the web. Millie is structured as a series of industry-specific dashboards – information technology, life sciences, healthcare, financial services, energy, agribusiness, chemical, and food and beverage – making it easy to find useful information in a self-service environment. Visits to Millie have increased steadily since its debut in July.
"Northern Light saw tremendous growth this year, which is a testimony to the strength of our technology and our hard-earned reputation for client service," C. David Seuss, Northern Light's CEO, said. "As a small company serving some of the world's largest enterprises, you have to be more than just good – you have to be great. It's gratifying to know that we make the grade every day.
"One of the benefits of success is being able to give back more to our local community," Seuss added. "Not only did Northern Light continue its sponsorship of The Salvation Army's Thanksgiving meals campaign, 'No One Hungry', in 2015, the initiative delivered 11,000 free meals – 10 percent more than last year – to needy families in the Boston area. And we also continued to provide laptop computers and backpacks to graduates of the City of Cambridge's 'Bridging the Gap' program for at-risk teens."
Northern Light is best known for its SinglePoint™ strategic research portals, which large enterprises deploy to provide employees single-search access to and analysis of internal primary and licensed secondary market research content, relevant social media postings, and business news. Special content sets available from Northern Light for integration into SinglePoint portals include industry-optimized business news, life sciences conference abstracts and posters, and IT industry analyst blogs and tweets. Virtually any research that a company creates or licenses also can be integrated into SinglePoint.
