Northern Light Appoints Jeff Thorne Chief Technology Officer
30-year IT industry veteran assumes senior leadership role at Boston-based provider of strategic research portals for Fortune 1000 enterprises
BOSTON, Sept. 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Northern Light® (www.northernlight.com), provider of strategic research portals to Fortune 1000 enterprises worldwide, today announced it has appointed Jeff Thorne to the position of Chief Technology Officer. Thorne, a 30-year IT industry veteran, is responsible for all activities that are involved in creating and delivering Northern Light's products to the company's customers. As such, Thorne will lead software development, datacenter operations, and IT. Northern Light's U.S. and offshore development staff will report to him.
Thorne assumes the CTO role from Anton Voskresensky, who has taken the new position of Chief Research Officer at Northern Light. In his new role, Voskresensky will focus on extending Northern Light's cutting-edge technology in areas such as text analytics, machine learning, automated analysis of research documents, and new delivery paradigms like mobile-first design.

Thorne brings three decades of software development experience to Northern Light. He led teams of developers on large software development projects utilizing staff across multiple continents at companies including American Express and First Data. Thorne ran all of IT and development operations for a SaaS-based enterprise software company in the training space. He was responsible for the deployment, training, and maintenance effort for a $100 million Oracle database system at Nucor, a $20 billion steel manufacturer and the largest U.S. producer of steel. Thorne earned an engineering degree and a MBA from Auburn University.
