Northern California And Northern Nevada Mcdonald's® Restaurants Kick Off The School Year With Free Breakfast For Students On September 15
SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- As students prepare for their first day of school, McDonald's restaurants in Northern California and Northern Nevada are helping kick-start their year with a breakfast. On Tuesday, Sept. 15, participating restaurants will offer free breakfast to kindergarten through eighth grade students from 6:30-9:30 a.m. All students must be accompanied by an adult when visiting a participating McDonald's restaurant.
Students can receive an Egg McMuffin, apple slices and 1% low fat milk, free of charge.
"Studies have shown that children who eat breakfast have less tardiness and absent days along with being more productive and successful in school with higher test scores, better concentration and muscle coordination," said Alice Fagundes, MS, RDN, FAND and California Dietetic Association Foundation Chair. "As many families are busy, particularly in the morning, McDonald's strives to provide an array of healthful options for both parents and children."
Families may enjoy breakfast options such as the Egg McMuffin, which features freshly cracked Grade A egg, extra lean Canadian bacon and a slice of melty American cheese on an English muffin.
"McDonald's continues to provide a variety of wholesome breakfast choices for families on-the-go," said Gino Potesta, Vice President and General Manager, Pacific Sierra Region. "With the return of this program, we are thrilled to help students and families throughout Northern California and Northern Nevada kick off the new school year with a satisfying breakfast."
