Northeast Ohio Recognized for Excellence in Economic Development
IEDC Honors Efforts Across Region, Including JumpStart Entrepreneurial Network
CLEVELAND, Oct. 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The International Economic Development Council (IEDC) awarded two Silver Excellence in Economic Development Awards in recognition of a collaborative effort that efficiently leverages support resources for the benefit of Greater Cleveland entrepreneurs. The JumpStart Entrepreneurial Network (www.jumpstartnetwork.org)—a Third Frontier supported initiative connecting seed funds, incubators, accelerators, resource providers and entrepreneur support organizations operating across the 21 counties of Northeast Ohio—placed in the categories of Entrepreneurship and Technology-Based Economic Development for communities with populations greater than 500,000.

IEDC's Excellence in Economic Development Awards recognize the world's best economic development programs and partnerships, marketing materials and the year's most influential leaders. These awards honor organizations and individuals for their efforts in creating positive change in urban, suburban and rural communities. In addition to the JumpStart Entrepreneurial Network, IEDC recognized several other Northeast Ohio economic development projects and collaborative initiatives:
