PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y., Oct. 28 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- North Shore Animal League America – the world's largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization – will roll out the "Green Carpet" to celebrities and their pets for the Fifth Annual DogCatemy Celebrity Gala. The event, hosted by comedienne Sandra Bernhard, with a performance from multi-platinum recording artist Deborah Cox, will be held at Cipriani's Wall Street in New York City on Thursday, November 4th at 6 pm.

The Gala reflects North Shore Animal League America's belief in the unique and loving bond between pets and their owners. The evening was created to celebrate this love, and to give thanks to the people and organizations dedicated to saving the lives of shelter animals and finding them loving, permanent homes.

In its fifth year, DogCatemy Celebrity Gala has become a tradition for celebrities and their pets. Each year, artists and newsmakers create videos starring their beloved animals for this Hollywood-style award show. The categories for this year's awards include: Best Pawformance, Best In Show, Best Tail Waggin Flick, and Best Dogumentary. This year's participants include actress Kathryn Erbe, Broadway stars Orfeh and Andy Karl, country music icon Wynonna Judd, multi-platinum recording artist Taylor Dane, the NY Mets, actor Josh Flitter, Bravo Housewives Countess LuAnn De Lesseps and Caroline Manzo, Stephen Baldwin and designers Marc Bauwer and Sylvia Heisel, among many others.

North Shore Animal League America is also excited to have renowned pet psychic Sonya Fitzpatrick. Sonya will do exclusive readings for attending guests in the Kitty-Cat Lounge during the first hour of the event. Gala-going pets can also expect some pampering in the Animal League Spa. The spa will feature dog stylist Jorge Bendersky from Planet Jorge; Doga, yoga created for you and your dog; and Reiki for your animal.
