The Annual Pet-Friendly Gala Serves to Raise Awareness for the Plight of Shelter Animals and Helps Support the Life-Saving Efforts of North Shore Animal League America

PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y., Sept. 22 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- North Shore Animal League America – the world's largest no-kill animal rescue and adoption organization – is pleased to announce that comedienne, actress, and singer Sandra Bernhard will host its Fifth Annual DogCatemy Celebrity Gala. The event will be held at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City on Thursday, November 4^th at 7 pm.

Over her career, Ms. Bernhard has produced several one-woman shows on Broadway, including her critically acclaimed I'm Still Here… Damn It!. She has also starred in film and television, winning accolades for her performance in Martin Scorsese's King of Comedy. Ms. Bernhard has authored three books and is currently working on her fourth.

In its fifth year, DogCatemy Celebrity Gala has become a "Green Carpet" tradition for celebrities and their pets. Each year, artists and newsmaker's create videos starring their beloved animals for this Hollywood-style award show. The categories for this year's awards include: Best Pawformance, Best Reel Life Tail, Best Tail Waggin, and Best Dogumentary.
