ATLANTA, May 15, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Management consulting firm North Highland is excited to announce the finalized selection of four nonprofits as the firm's 2019 philanthropy partners. This is the first year that North Highland launched a formal by-invitation process for its pro-bono work. Between 2016-2018, the firm piloted its theory of change that poverty can best be disrupted through root-cause interventions, applying consulting expertise in various philanthropic engagements in eight cities.
The 2019 finalists were selected based on an assessment of factors including the degree to which the nonprofit focused its programs to disrupt poverty through root-cause intervention, the size of the demographic and community served that would otherwise be at-risk of economic inequity, financial soundness, evidence of outputs and outcomes that resulted in the at-risk demographic and community attaining economic self-sufficiency, and the nonprofits' ability to dedicate required time and resources to working with a team of consultants.
"We look forward to working with each of our nonprofit partners to help accelerate their organizational effectiveness and scale their impact," said Dan Reardon, North Highland Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director. "We're gratified at this opportunity to drive economic empowerment for underserved people in our communities."
The four nonprofits that will each receive pro-bono consulting services from the firm include: Veterans Bridge Home, based in Charlotte; The Alliance, based in Houston; Inspire, based in London; and Urban Strategies, based in St. Louis. Each of the non-profits will be assigned a dedicated consulting team which will scope work and related deliverables to solve the primary challenge identified by the non-profits in their applications.
