ATLANTA, Nov. 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Management consulting firm North Highland announces that Mary Slaughter has joined the firm as Chief People Officer. In this role, Slaughter will oversee training and development, performance management and talent retention.

Slaughter has more than 25 years of successful human resources experience in complex, global organizations. She has led large scale cultural transformation efforts, talent retention and global training operations across several continents, with in-depth experience in the Americas, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. Prior to joining North Highland, Slaughter spent five years as the Chief Talent Officer for SunTrust before moving into the consulting space, engaging with c-suite clients to better align talent strategies and business priorities.

Slaughter has spoken at numerous conferences around the country on the topics of talent management, leadership development and training, in addition to being a featured thought leader in her space by several publications, including Training Magazine, T+D Magazine and Selling Power. She's served on executive boards for the Association for Talent Development (ATD), The Conference Board, as well as a non-profit arts organization, the Atlanta Master Chorale. Slaughter holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Austin Peay State University and a Master of Arts in Communication and Public Relations from Georgia State University.
