North Dallas Welcomes New Dickey's Barbecue Pit

RICHARDSON, Texas, June 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Dickey's Barbecue Pit, the largest quick-serve barbecue chain in the country, continues to grow as the initial plans begin to open a location in north Dallas.

"Dickey's impressed me. I like Dickey's food, setup and atmosphere. The time seemed right for a franchise. I was sold," said Guy New, the owner/operator for this north Dallas location.

This is the first Dickey's Barbecue franchise opportunity for Guy, a published songwriter and fifth generation Texan.

"I love the quality of the food, the customer satisfaction level, and the catering potential," Guy said, setting his sights on offering an extensive catering menu to the DFW area.

Texas-based Dickey's Barbecue Pit opened in 1941 and began franchising in 1994. Dickey's Barbecue Pit is well-known for their hot pit-smoked signature meats, complimentary ice cream and the big yellow cups.

The original Dallas location is still open for business and Dickey's Barbecue Pit is still owned and operated by the Dickey Family.

Even today, Dickey's still slow smokes all of their signature meats overnight in every restaurant.
