North Cascades Lodge at Stehekin Opening May 18

NORTH CASCADES NATIONAL PARK, Wash., May 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Guest Services, Inc., the National Park Service concessionaire operating North Cascades Lodge at Stehekin (formerly Stehekin Landing), announces the commencement of operations for the 2012 season on May 18, 2012. North Cascades Lodge at Stehekin will provide lodging, food service, transportation services, and the sale of fuel, gifts, and convenience items to Lake Chelan National Recreation Area visitors.

A total of 28 cabins and rooms accommodate from two to six guests each; seven cabins have kitchens. There also is the "Lake House," which sleeps 12.

The Lodge also houses a full-service restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and offers a variety of local and micro-brew beers, in addition to a full wine list featuring many wines from the local Chelan area. A gift shop is on site, as is a small convenience store.

The activities in the surrounding area give full play to the lake and magnificent countryside. Guests can tour the area by sea plane, on horseback or on bicycles; kayaking and rafting the Stehekin River are popular pastimes; and the fishing is unbeatable.
